GCMS (Vietnam Center) Successfully Launched in Hanoi

On 6 August, the GCMS-Vietnam Center was successfully launched at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam(DAV). Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Vu Tung, President of DAV, and Dr. Rong Ying, Director of the GCMS-China Center delivered remarks at the ceremony. Representatives from the embassies of Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand in Hanoi attended the event. More than 70 participants from Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Transport, Vietnam Academy of Social Science, Hanoi National University, Vietnam National University(Ho Chi Minh City) and other ministries and institutes gathered together to congratulate the GCMS-Vietnam Center on its official opening.

After the ceremony, the GCMS-China Center delegation had roundtables with DAV, Institute for Chinese Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Science, and Vietnam Institute for Development Strategies respectively. Mr. Ji Lingpeng, Deputy National Coordinator of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation China Secretariat joined the discussions.
